Vegetable Stir Fry (Yasai Itame)

The Japanese word for Vegetable Stir Fry is “Yasai Itame”. Yasai means vegetable and itame is stir fry. You can also use any kind of vegetables in this recipe. Please try with your favorite vegetable and stay healthy for this hot summer!


Yield: 2 servings
Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 carrot (sliced thin)
  • 1 small green pepper (sliced thin)
  • 1 small eggplant (sliced thin) (340g)
  • 1/2 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 sausage or hot dog (sliced)
Spices
  • 2 tsp oyster sauce
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp chicken soup powder
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • dash of salt and pepper


Preparation

  1. Mix spices together in a small bowl (without sesame oil, salt, and pepper)
  2. Heat sesame oil in a frying pan then grill the sausage for 30 seconds with high heat
  3. Add all vegetables, cook for 7 minutes over medium heat
  4. Add mixed spices in a pan, then cook for 2 minutes over low heat
  5. Adjust to taste with salt and pepper
